I have a “database” of useful reference cards. I’m sharing them with you. They’re organized in a hierarchy as designated in the title; so this particular card is in the broad category of “Social” (which is more of a psychology/sociology category), the minor category of “MBTI“, and this specific card is “General” information about the MBTI.
This MBTI set is probably my most useful stack o’ cards at the moment. For the unfamiliar, the MBTI is a personality test that consists of four “dichotomies”; four different “traits” in which you’re either x or y. Introverted or Extroverted, Intuitive or Sensing, that kinda thing. Part of my obsession is fun; I like to look at people and say “I think they’re type “XXXX.” Part of it is understanding: for example, realizing that Extroverts are actually drained by being alone for too long (similar to how I, an Introvert, feel when social for too long), rather than just bored, was a nice kick to the world view. There’s also an opportunity there for self improvement, as it allows me to say “Hey, this extroverted trait seems valuable. I should try and develop it.”
These specific points are the general reference items that are good to check every once in a while. The first few are moral checks: Be honest, don’t judge, yada yada. The latter few relate to the nomenclature of the MBTI, since a lot of reading on the subject use the more advanced terms willy nilly.
